COLLEGE BASKETBALL PREVIEW 2006-2007: THE PRESEASON FAB 15
November 3, 2006

SCS.com 2006-2007 Hoops Preview Home

SCS.com The Florida Gators will begin this season exactly where the left off at the end of last season, ranked number one in the country. Billy Donovan's squad has edged out second-ranked North Carolina for the top spot in our Preseason Fab 15 as the SCS.com Hoops Preview series rolls along. Kansas is number three, while a pair of Final Four teams from a year ago, UCLA and LSU, round out the the top five. Pittsburgh, Alabama, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Duke complete the top ten, and of those five teams, only the Blue Devils were ranked in the Fab 15 at the completion of the season last April. The preseason poll finishes up with Georgetown, Texas A&M, Boston College, Ohio State, and Washington.

Only seven teams that were ranked in the 2005-2006 Postseason Fab 15 earned a spot in our 2006-2007 Preseason Fab 15, making way for eight new squads to enter the poll. Of the eight teams that fell out since last April, three (Connecticut, Villanova, and Memphis) are among the top 25 vote-getters this November. Texas received minimal votes, while Gonzaga, George Mason, West Virginia, and Bradley received none.
